Victory: President Obama suspends Shell Oil's Arctic drilling plans.

Your actions have given us all a real reason to celebrate today, as President Obama has halted Shell Oil's drilling in Arctic Alaska this year!
Putting a stop to Shell's plans means so much: protection for the beluga whales, polar bears, and other wildlife in and around the Arctic Ocean, as well as the native communities that depend on the sea for their livelihoods.
With your help, we generated more than 75,000 messages to the Administration in opposition to the drilling. Our work in Washington, D.C. and in Alaska with native groups, coalition partners, Congress, and theDepartment of Interior helped ensure that precious Arctic ecosystems weren't imperiled by new drilling rigs.
